How to Care for Plants

Placement and Care

Indoor, Near east or west-facing windows with filtered sunlight; avoid direct sunlight, Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn. Maintain high humidity by placing the pot on a humidity tray or using a humidifier. Water in the morning to allow excess moisture to evaporate by evening.
Indoor, Decent light conditions where it can receive upto 6 hours of sunlight.

Water Requirement

100-200 ml every week

Fertilizer (once a month)

Balanced orchid fertilizer (20-20-20) diluted to half strength, every 2 weeks during the growing season and monthly during the dormant period.
Water soluble and balanced NPK 20: 20:20 during growing season (spring and summer)

Flowering Period

In late winter to spring, but can flower multiple times a year under ideal conditions.

Pruning

Cut back the flower spike to the second node after blooming to encourage reblooming.

Repotting

Every 1-2 years after blooming, using a specialized orchid potting mix (bark-based).

Additional Information:

Ensure good air circulation around the plant to prevent fungal infections. Wipe leaves regularly to remove dust and allow for better photosynthesis. Phalaenopsis orchids are relatively easy to care for and make excellent indoor plants due to their low light requirements.
