Ratrani

Ratrani

Ratrani (Nyctanthes arbor-tristis), also known as Harsingar or Night-flowering Jasmine, is a tropical shrub native to South Asia, revered for its striking nocturnal blooms. The plant is celebrated for its fragrant, white flowers with orange centers that bloom at night and fall by morning, creating a carpet of petals beneath the plant. Ratrani thrives in well-draining soil and prefers full sun to partial shade. It is well-suited for tropical and subtropical climates, growing up to 10 feet tall. Regular watering is essential, but the soil should be allowed to dry slightly between waterings to avoid waterlogging. This plant is often used in gardens for its beauty and aromatic qualities, and it holds cultural significance in various traditions, often associated with religious and ceremonial practices. Its unique flowering pattern and pleasant fragrance make it a cherished addition to landscapes and gardens.
